1.
grow on 03:45
Is this something to learn from? To make healing easier If you don't look behind you, pretend nothing has happened. what can we go on – can we grow on? Change of environment, and you cut yourself from the stem. I guess nothing can hurt you now
2.
system 02:59
Cover up, There's no one you can trust don't leave the home, don't go outside alone be prepared for things out of your control the system automates the blame, there is no safer place to go How were we supposed to know? Where were we supposed to go? How far have we come, if NO can't be heard? What is this response, when it just reoccurs Cover up, this is covering up our voices cannot be heard in a culture that supports a system that purports disgust and gives the benefit of doubt, and mistrusts those who speak up for themselves, and says I told you so how were we supposed to know? these problems aren't just mine, they're ours what is this response, that makes it hurt worse we need a safer space, to know we've been heard (to know we've been hurt)
3.
No flag to soak the blood no flag to hide the shame committed in our name to warm the feet, to heat the home There is no flag big enough to hide behind somewhere between information and education - learning got lost. did history happen or did we pretend? how are we taught national pride when there's no esteem to be found there is no flag we still sing an anthem. with words that we don't know. we still align to a monarchy, but we scoff at the throne. who are we to instil national pride when we can't even talk about our faults. there is no flag
4.
wide awake 03:44
we have to live with this doesn't mean, we can't tear the world apart there will be an end to it we can work against what works us if we build it – they will come doesn't mean that to smile is not to grieve these things are born from dreams open your eyes wide awake I can't sleep it off, cos I'm wide awake we can stand up to this though its tough, it's not perishable look at your hands, what can they do to help what can your hands make from this mess we can, tear it apart Got to see it off, I can't sleep it off cos I'm wide awake
